I wonder whether you’d get away with this at Heathrow today……:D
No – more likely at Stanstead with easyjet! 😀

Interesting.
Fast forward to 1956 and I flew from London (not sure which field – Lydd maybe?) to Wick in the far north of Scotland in a Silver City Airways DC-3.
My first flight, the 50th anniversary of which I ‘marked’ last year with a flight on one of Air Atlantiques DC3.

From a more personal perspective, one on Nigeria gaining independance, seeing as I’m a former child resident of the former British West Africa.

Great film! Imagine trying to get planning permission to wipe out all that greenfield land and homes, pubs etc., these days?
Here’s one of the first atomic bomb test, Operation Hurricane.
And Suez in Prespective.
Fascinating site, thanks, bookmarked now! 😀
