RE: London City Airways?
It was merged into BD in November 1990. That flashy livery must of made the Dash 7’s feel right at home in London’s business airport.

RE: London City Airways?
They flew out of LCY at the same time as Brymon and competed on routes to Paris, they also flew to Amsterdam, and maybe some other destinations i don’t recall . They did struggle, did not have the advantage that Brymon had with their tie-up with AF on the CDG run. I think they were part of Airlines of Britain group (BD) and in the end the routes and aircraft were taken over by BD who remained at LCY for a while then pulled out and deposed of the Dash 7s. I flew on them to Paris and Amsterdam and found the service very good. I was working in travel at the time and remember they always had reasonable fares available which normally indicates a not too full cabin.

They had 4 Dash 7’s and experimented with the 146 also. 3 of the Dash 7’s were brand new and used ex-Concorde registrations (G-BOAW, G-BOAX and G-BOAY).
Unfortunately the airline went bust in 1990.
There is a memorial website at http://www.londoncityairways.co.uk/

RE: London City Airways?
they were the home carrier at LCY, set up for business travellers in the 80’s. Dunno what happened to them, but they had two or three Dash 7’s in their fleet.
