Hoping someone may have flown in/out of London City recently, and can let me know the current situation re check-in, security, etc. We’re booked LCY-ZUR-BKK at the end of the month, and chose LCY partly because we have an 8 month old baby and didn’t fancy hanging round congested Heathrow for 2 or more hours. Hopefully last year’s new security measures haven’t put paid to that late check-in facility? Thanks very much indeed for any advice or info.

Wise choice, I always use London City now, even if it means a change at a European hub. London city has no crowds, no big queues at check in and no silly check in times of 3-2 hours before flights. It’s a very smooth hassle free and extremley efficient airport. Okay its got hardly any shops but who goes to airports to shop? I last used the airport 3 weeks back to LCY-ZUR-IST and IST-FRA-LCY went perfect. I can not stand Heathrow any more and for me flying from London city with a change in Europe is just as quick and without the hassles or headaches of LHR. When done to those who run LCY.
