London – New Zealand race 1953

I have copy of the official program. This was published well prior to the actual race of course, and many of the entrants did not eventually participate. There are some interesting concepts, though, including a Mustang with pulse jets in the wings.

Is this the race on which the new film ‘Bride Flight’ is based? If so, AA’s DC6 looks superb already but I wonder whether any of the other competitors will be featured, either in the form of CGI or newsreel clips?
