Nimrod hasn’t been there for a few years . She is at Doncaster.

Nothing much has changed since that time. I do think that nimrod is a bit out of place though

The wings are from Sea Venom FAW22 . serial XG737. They are still their on trestles today. The pod is apparantly stored indoors somewhere or other.

Thanks for sharing the pics Arm Waver.Interesting and dare I say sad and frustrating to see how the aircraft appear to have deteriorated over the last few years.

The wings were from a Venom. The engine IIRC was under the blue tarp and the rest was in the hangar and awkward to photo so I didn’t as I couldn’t get a decent clear shot adn there was no-one to ask if I could go in an take one.

Whats the pair of wings from? They look Vampireish to me.

We wont even mention to you then the vary rare Supermarine Swift sat outside a militray surplus dealers store (I think thats the store type its outside) deteriorating away.

Id also make sure Gatwick got a fair chunk too. Can I have a Blue Peter badge too? Well if I ever win the lottery the first thing I’ll is buy myself a pair of working RR Avon 107’s, now that would REALLY wind the other half yippeeee. One of the reasons I got out of rail preservation is that visitors rarely got to see anything other than a working loco or a bloody great set of wheels from the ground and snotty empire building attitudes didnt help either.
