Lovely pictures. A few of them look like the real thing. Shame about the P38.

The P-38 suffered structural failure of the tailplane spars, with the tailplane ripping out from the booms and leaving the attachment points fastened securely to the booms. The aircraft then bunted at high power into the runway. The landing gear and engines survived and Steve says he will build another as he enjoyed it so much.

Shame about the P-38. Repairable?

I’ve seen the Comet a few times now, hope to see these again at the Southport Model Rally in August.
It was only a few years ago that the jet models came onto the show, before that, the “Jet” models had pusher props. Even the Vulcan did, he converted it.
Was that Vulcan there too? Although that is no longer on the wish list to fly again. 🙂

I’m afraid the P38 was nothing but bits, won’t see it again.
The Coment was the only ‘real’ Jet at the event, the only others were all fictitious. I’ll get a few posted from todays first public day (yesterday was just closed doors) at some point.

Thank you all for those comments. Sadly the P-38 crashed and was destroyed today at the first public day of the LMA show, a sad loss.

Very nice, as you say-if only. Some tasty machines there. Especially like the Comet 4 and the Fiat CR32.
