dark light

Look for an erotic advert near your airport!

Surprised our Gatwick spotters haven’t seen this yet, oh that’s right, it can only be seen from the air! An interesting interpretation of council planning regulations.

Not sure about those adverts. What happens if someone stabs it, would it not deflat?

Also compared to the previous adverts these ones would render larger sections of a field underneath useless during the period it is up. At least with the drawning on the ground you get some of the land available for use with crops or animals.

Would be an interesting billboard for a bouncy castle company lol!

Obviously the next step was going to be inflatable ads! I wouldn’t have thought that it was going to be too cost effective as only the window seated passenegers would be able to view the ads on one side of the plane, weather permitting.

Giant Ads Aimed At Passengers Aloft

If part of what you enjoy about flying is the view out the window, prepare for that small pleasure to be infringed upon by the marketing mavens. A company called Ad-Air, based in London, is creating what it calls the “first global aerial advertising network,” selling five-acre inflatable ads that lie across the landscape like giant billboards, strategically placed beneath flight paths into major airports. “What an incredible marketing opportunity – all these passengers with nothing else to do, staring down at the ground below,” Paul Jenkins, managing director of Ad-Air, told the International Herald-Tribune. Ad-Air said it has official okays to set up the ads near more than a dozen major airports in the U.K., France, Asia, and several in the U.S., including Atlanta, Denver, and Los Angeles International.

Ad-Air has spent about $10 million to buy or lease sites below flight paths. The first site is to be unveiled later this month in Dubai.

What on earth is wrong with that…?
Seeings as it is only a silhouette, how can we/they tell that she is even naked in the first place, she could be clothed for all we know…:D

My trained eyes say she is scantily clad

Anyone going to admit to checking the site out?

Im off there next 😉

Its a great idea. In recent years the decline in farming has led land owners to find new sources of income, the worst example of this is the old batted lorries you see parked on the side of motorways advertising rubbish.

Well, this thing has been done before. In Sweden the national railway company SJ made commercials in the fields just outside Swedens three biggest airports. The commercials were aimed at SAS and showed how much cheaper they would have arrived by train…

I flew into Gatwick on Friday evening and there was no sign of it from my side of the plane on approach.

I’ll keep an eye out for it on departure this week and see if I can grab a photograph, although I’m not sure exactly where its supposed to be?

There used to be a great big advert for “rubbers” on the Inchinnan side of Glasgow Airport. Does that count and can anyone find a picture ???

Has anyone managed to get a picture of this??

I like the below comment from the link.. its good to see someone playing the councils of this country in their on game..

“We are operating quite within our rights. We produce adverts that are only visible by people in the air. If the council own the rights to the airspace then we would be happy to hear from them,” said Steven Johnson of Flightpath Media, a subsidiary of SMG.
