I heard a rumble… sounded like merlins…grabbed my camera…
And there we have it! Four beautiful Mustangs in perfect formation! This time of year you dont really see this at all. What a sight.
I got a closer picture with a zoom lens that i’ll post a little later!

No i havent seen your skins [YET] i will have a good look around though.
I fly [ loosest possible terms LOL] with some friends off this site,it’s a WW2 Bomber sim being constructed http://www.nightbomber.com/forums/.
We fly with the t4t in front of our names,so if you see us in Hyperlobby say hello.:)

AHHH!!! MOOSE! gotta love Moose! everybody loves moose.:D :p :p :p
Very nice indeed Trumper, is she one of yours or from il2skins.com?
I’ve just started doing skins for forgotten battles myself. Go to www.IL2skins.com and search for skins by ‘bear_boradin’ i have 7 skins up so far including the Gentile one. Check them out see what you think.
I did start on a ‘Moose’ and i might get round to finishing it one day!
Happy Landings mate and check your six!
Another one of mine….

and another one…
By: Chris Broad - 7th January 2004 at 20:01
I do apologise Mark V, i seemed to have forgotten all about this thread! :p
Ok… here we go then: –
It’s very simple i can assure you. You play the game, fly what you want, when a moment arrises that you think it would look like a great photo oppertunity, you hit a button called ‘Print Scrn’.
This captures the entire screen as a still shot in the resolution you are running and stores it on the ‘clipboard’ (which traditonally meant having to exit the game and paste it somewhere in order to save it.)
However, in IL2FB they make it slightly easier, whereby the captured shot is automatically saved into the game’s directory on your hard-drive as a .tga graphics file which you can convert to a .jpeg using PSP7 or Photoshop to reduce its file size.
I hope this helps, any more help you need, give me a shout!
Something to whet your appetite…
This is a mustang skin (paintscheme) i recently completed which took about 8 hours to finish. It’s of Gentile’s P-51D that he flew in the states when he finished his tour of duty.

Pretty please Chris…..

Very interesting Chris,
What I do not understand (and the reason is probably something to do with the fact that everything I know about computer games can be written on a postage stamp) is what is the link between being able to create (or reproduce?) images of the aircraft and actually playing the game
Can you explain please?
Cheers – and happy new year!

Ok….
Check out www.il2sturmovik.com for the updates on the original game and more currently the updates for the sequel Forgotten Battles. I suggest you go out and buy the latter, it is something else! I picked it up from GAME for £20 – you cannot argue for that, seeing as Dixons were selling it for £39.99 only a couple of months ago!
Once you have IL2-FB go to the official site (above) and downlload the latest patch which will give you more aircraft (B-17, A6M Zero) and most importantly make the Mustang flyable! It also gives you a normandy map to build missions with further expanding the game to handle western front battles rather than solely the Eastern front. A wise move by the creators i think, even though i love the other perspective of flying for the Reds.
The next thing you need to do once you have the new game is go to http://www.il2skins.com and download all the texture skins you will ever need for any aeroplane in the game! There are thousands of colour schemes available and many more are being made as we speak. It is of course all free ‘for the love of it’.
There is no more incompatibility problems that plagued the 3rd party developers of MS Combat flight sim series, the aircraft in IL-2 FB are all made using original blueprints and christ knows what else to get the perfect visual and technical model available. And the aspect of 3rd party addons are overseen by the game’s creator Oleg Maddox. If it does not match his criteria it will not be includedin the official patch – simple as that. This means he can release only the best for the game, none of this below par lookalike modelling seen in the Microsoft equivalent!
Well,.. i hope this in someway helps. I really should be the UK representative for Maddox games!!!
Well it kicks ass, thats the truth!:D

Maybe she will have holes in her leading edge once more one day, who knows. Jumping Jaques has been operated in civilian hands for over 40 years, I guess there wasn’t a need for gunports back then.
