Can anyone help me locate a TR 1985 Trans Receiver? (STR 9x)
I would like to find two if possible but one would be great. I could even make do with parts as well, such as the crystal bank and channel change drum.
Thank you.

I’m still hunting 🙂
I was able to get my hands on a TR1987 and while I was able to make some discoveries with the components, this model isn’t exactly right. Apparently I need a TR1985 or 1986.
If it comes down to just finding parts, these are the parts I am aware that I would want:
1: The filters on the back of the case
2: The items in the following photo:

That photo is one I found online, not of a radio that I have.
Here you can see those items on the original screen used prop. The photos of the prop are on the left ( “pink-ish” in color). The TR1985 is on the right.

This shows how those items are different from the TR1985 to the TR1987:

Thanks to anyone who can assist.

It’s all good Bruce! Thank you so much for helping. I hope to begin getting them prepped and attached to the landspeeder here soon.
Yeah, if you happen to stumble on anything else please let me know. I wish I could come dig around in your barn but alas… flying over from the U.S. isn’t like riding my bike down to the gas station 😉

Sorry it took so long – I was concerned that they wouldn’t be in good enough shape, but they look fine compared to the original prop!
If I find any more, they are yours. I cant believe that in a whole pallet of radios, there were just two left!

Thanks Bruce!
I got my crystal banks:

I am holding the part next to a photo of the original, on the back of Luke’s landspeeder from Star Wars:

I might be up for finding one more of these and possibly a whole radio, or two.

Thanks for the link. That does seem a little steep.
I’ll keep it in mind but will probably keep hunting.

I got to thinking. I know a few people in Europe. If shipping to the U.S. is a pain, and that’s why I keep losing contact with folks, perhaps someone would be willing to ship the items to one of my friends and they could ship to me?
thanks,
Cal

Awesome. Thanks!
I don’t need the crystals anyway so … perfect! 🙂 The units don’t have to be functional at all either.
Shipping might be a stickler. I’m in Colorado / USA (zip 80538)
I would love to see some pics if you have them. I am interested in two units or at the very least possibly one full radio and a 2nd crystal bank / change drum assembly. Or at the absolute minimum I would like two of the crystal bank / change drum assemblies. If you could share some pictures of that assembly with the cover off that would be awesome. If your radios are in pieces I would like at least some of the innards.
Please feel free to send me a PM and we can maybe move the conversation to email?
thanks again,
Cal

I’m still looking for these. I have had 3 guys now tell me they have them and I try to give them my money and I never hear back…it’s so weird 😉
Anyway, I’m bumping this up to see if anyone can help.
thanks,
Cal
