Looking for Flypast issue with Operation Judgement

Hi guys. New to this forum but I thought I’d jump right in. 🙂

I am looking for a Flypast issue that covered the FAA attacks on the Uboat tender Black Watch as well as the U-711 on May 4 1945 in Harstad, Northern Norway. I’ve seen a bad photocopy but forgot to make a note of what issue the article was in.
There were several pictures of 846 Sqn Avengers as they were doing wingovers for an attack on the ships.

As a sidenote one of the Avengers crashed in the mountain side and parts of the plane are still in situ, though most were salvaged just after the war. The main wheels are apparently used on a tractor cart in the area.

I appreciate any information you might have and would be very pleased if someone was willing to sell me the issue, alternatively (shhh) make a scan of the relevant pages.

Regards,

Kyrre Ingebrethsen

Searched all the Eighties under ‘FAA’ and ‘Grumman Avenger’ with no luck for your article 🙁

Cheers.

I don’t know what year though I think it was in the second half of the eighties. In case noone here knows the issue I’ll certainly get in contact with Flypast.

Kyrre

Hello atckyrre,

I have all the back issues of Flypast, but do not have time to look through alll the indexes. I suggest you contact Flypast to try and find the issue number (they may have a search facility). Unless, that is, you have a rough year for me to go and look for you.

Get in touch via a private message if I can be of more help.
