Looking for info on WW2 air gunner

Hi looking for any info please for 169508 R.e.l Wombey 15 squadron then 622 squadron please i know he survived the war and he was an airgunner on stirlings.

No, it doesn’t mean he got the DFC.

The three LG entries are simply his promotion to commissioned rank and his subsequent promotions. You have to go back a page or two for each entry to work out exactly what each entry means.

So, on the 19/9/43, he was promoted from 1198086 Flight Sergeant Robert Edwin Lewis Wombey to 169508 Pilot Officer Wombey.

On the 19/3/44 he was promoted to Flying Officer and on the 19/9/45 was promoted again to Flight Lieutenant.

His original Service Number was one of a batch issued to those joining in April 1940 or after through Cardington.

I have found him in the london gazette 3 times now does this mean he got a dfc? 3 times sounds quite a lot!feb 44,may 44 and october 1945.
