The Milton Keynes Aviation Society has organised two highly successful gatherings of WWII aircrew, a fighter pilots’s forum in 2001, followed by a bomber crew forum in 2003, both chaired by Air Marshal Sir Roger Austin.
We are planning a VE-Day 60th Anniversary forum for July 2005. The intent is to bring together a small number of fighter people from all sides of the conflict, to recount experiences and answer questions from the audience in open forum. We already have a German night fighter ace coming over specially for the event, and are now actively seeking pilots from other nations.
Could anyone who might be able to put us in touch with, or help track
down, any potentially willing “volunteers” please respond?
Thanks a lot.

Jules, you certainly DO qualify! We have broadened out the scope to include all aircrew, not just fighter pilots, and we have a B-17 navigator coming over from Florida already……
Colin, just to let you know that Peter Fahy has confirmed his attendance. The event will now be held at Bletchley Park, and so far we have two luftwaffe, three RAF and one USAAF man coming.

Steve,
Unfortunately I don’t qualify. I flew 50 sorties in B-17’s over Europe. I was based in Tunis, N.Africa and Foggia, Italy from July to Feb 1943-44, and I don’t live close by.Good luck with your meeting

Peter Fahey is ex 16 Squadron and always attends the reunions. Jimmy Taylor the 16 Squadron ‘secratary’ will forward a letter for sure. I have his address if you need it.
