Losse of 221 Sqdn airman Frank Albert Clayton

Can anybody help in finding more details of this mans loss.

A quick search of the CWGC site shows that all the men listed by Ross died on the same day, 24th March 1944.

221 Squadron were at the time operating anti-submarine patrols out of Luqa, Malta. I strongly suspect that if there is any more detail to be found then Ross may be the man to provide it.

It’s sobering to think that another search I did for that date reveals that 214 airmen died on that one particular day. It seems Sergeant Clayton’s aircraft was the only one lost by the Squadron on that date.
