A recent conversation with a friend on previously well known aeroplanes which have seemingly vanished in recent years set me wondering about two in particular, namely the former Reflectair Canadair Sabre and the old North Weald museum’s T-6.
The Sabre was last heard of stored on a farm in Lancashire I believe in the mid 1980s (I saw it at the Duxford auction-remaining un-sold if I remember correctly). Where is it now?
Similarly, the now long defunct museum at North Weald had a T-6 airframe which I understand had been recovered from a scrap-yard many years ago. Any idea where machine is now located?
Any news on either of these would be most welcome.
Thanks,
Phil

Former North Weald museum T6

I did a little work on this T6. It was built from parts gathered together from scrapyards by two brothers. They sold it to Aces High in the late 80’s/early 90’s, and it was then quickly sold across the pond.
I will try and post a photo tonight. From memory it was bare metal, with a red/white check engine cowl, and memorably had a large black DF loop teardrop fairing behind the canopy.
