I’ve seen the pics now, the photos of the Steel Yard OTH radar are amazing! You can see that thing in Google Earth BTW, and the structure is apparently large enough to have been picked up by the SRTM radar! There is a substantial bump in the elevation model in the same place.

The site lay-out also looks absolutely nothing like what FAS and GlobalSecurity show as another installation of this type near Komsomolsk-na-Amure on satellite photos. More evidence that this second radar is not located in Komsomolsk at all but rather somewhere near Nikolayevsk-na-Amure as many of their sources originally reported – a city which cannot exist according to them, since the NIMA database does not mention it :rolleyes: (brilliant analysis there – any decent atlas would have told them the opposite).

While we’re on the topic of discussing Russian ABM radars, the Cat House radar in Moscow is also (barely) visible in high resolution now.
