Louis de Funès "pilots" what?

I am always a bit upset when I see an aircraft in a movie and cannot identify it. This one is from the Louis de Funès comedy movie “Les grandes vacances” (probably was never transferred to an English version), where actors Louis de Funès and Ferdy Mayne land with it on a bus to Gretna Green (their “movie children” are in the bus to marriage, the “fathers” (unsuccessfully of course) try to prevent this).

Unfortunately, there are nearly no pictures of the aircraft on the internet, a registration was never visible. The ones I found lack quality, sorry. The first one is from forums.infoclimat.fr, cut out and a bit upsized by myself. Note the characteristic empennage form. The second one shows actors Louis de Funès and Ferdy Mayne after “landing” and is from img.tel.pmdstatic.ne. Note the characteristic knob on the left side (in flying direction).

The aircraft is probably of French origin. I have a lot of different Foxpapas in my collection, but not this one.

Can you help? Thank you!

Regards, RT

You are right, thank you. I thought the tailfin were much smaller but one of Laurence’s pictures show clearly it is a MS 880. Of course I have one in my collection. But I also got confused by the black knobs on the cowling (in my picture, one is covered by a propeller blade). No other aicraft picture of this type shows this feature, at least I found none.

Looks like a Rallye to me.
Surprised the OP has never seen one. For years it seemingly was the only French GA aircraft and were fairly common outside of France.

Looks a bit like a SOCATA Rallye: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SOCATA_Rallye_family
