Louis Falstein-face of a hero-any info ?

I have just finished a book written by him,i thought was terrific,

I wondered if anyone had any more information about him. I was pleased and surprised to find out at the end of the book he was a gunner and considering he had the purple heart and other medals there seems to be very little information about him.
Anyway i thought it was a good book:)
