low cost airlines

I have wondered how peanuts airlines make proffits, selling seats at bus prices. Everybody know their philosophy: Cost cuts and fully loaded planes. Its clear that the pioneer is the successful Southwest and here in Europe there are several examples which have tried to follow Southwest success. Ryan Air and Easyjet are doing a good job in terms of proffits, Debonair
(one of the finest low cost) went down when they missed the objectives of a low cost and tried to behave like a regular airline in terms of prices but at low cost service standards, Buzz (lovely colours) and the troublesome GO. I am affraid when they cut costs they cuts maintenance and level of safety.
I´ll be flying Easyjet MAD to LPL and I don´t feel really confident despite having paid only 30 pounds return. What do you think of low costs in terms of safety?. Do they use right spare parts of bogus?.

Monarch scheuled are not low fares there fares are humongus compared to Ryanair and even snozzyjet I meen Easyjet.

Perhaps

But ZB won’t leave you stranded at an airport because the CEO doesn’t want to pay the due rates for landing fees. Ryanair frequently does.

ZB won’t charge you the earth to re book a flight or cancel. Ryanair frequently does.

And above all, ZB have class. Heck even easyJet have class in contrast to FR

Yes, I think Easyjet are not too bad, as they call 30 passengers at a time which does pretty much the same thing as allocated seats. I agree Ryanair is awful with boarding…………..and most things actually !

On the subject of boarding was at LHR on Sunday evening boarding a BMI flight to Manchester, they did call the flight by rows, however many people took no notice. As a result finding your seat became more difficult with people in the aisle, who should have waited for their rows to be called.

Easyjet are actually not too bad you just have to check in early then you get the choice of the seats. I think they call the first 25 or 30 pax that checked in first.

Yeah I love the livery, but not particuarly happy about the Airbus order, would like to see them keep the 717s.

I see.

Ok, one bit of good news in the sea of bad karma

I would recommend Virgin Blue at this present time, due JQ using B717 more at the moment, because the 737 being more spacious than the 717 and i think DJ has a better service than JQ, anyways good luck.

JetStar do not allocate seats. Not sure about Virgin Blue.

Here in Europe, a few low-fare airlines do allocate seats at check-in – BMIBaby for example.

So far Ive hvae heard some good things about Jetstars service but certainly for a new airline they have had a lot of prob;ems with their aircraft. As for Virgin I think anything with that name has quality written all over it.

Well to get you started, you could of course, if you haven’t already done so that is, post on your Plane-Mad forum and the Airliners.net forum. By doing this, its reaching a few more people.

If you find any probs then let me know.

RE: Low Cost Airlines

Flybe are a tricky one. They haven’t got a timetable on their website. You have to order one to get through the post (which I did last weekend but still nothing!).

The other tricky one is Ryanair, again no timetable on website (for summer). I’m leaving them till just before I open it and search different days on their book online section.
