Low Price Camera Voting Thread – PULLED

Clearly there were problems with the Voting Thread – I had made a number of mistakes.

Incidentally, I have REOPENED the posting thread for the time being – as there has been at least one very interesting post since closing.

Please note that 56 b to e should read 53 b to e and are by Danohagan – apologies for the error.

56 is actually a post by me, so cannot be voted for anyway

Also Duxfordhawk’s photographs are shown in the poll as 9 a to c – clearly that should read 8 a to c – post number 9 is a non-picture message by StewartA

Again – please vote 9 a to c for Duxfordhawk’s pictures – and again I apologise for the error (I’ve been very busy recently and am clearly not checking my work as I should do

🙁 )

Oh God, and Hatton’s posts, 10, 11 & 12 do all, of course, qualify – please vote 11 or 12 – I will tot up votes at the end

In fact, there are so many mistakes – for which I can only apologise, that I think I will have to start again. However, I cannot do that until later tonight

So I am abandoning this thread and will start a new voting thread tonight.

If anyone has any ideas on how I can avoid cheating, then please let me know – note that I have no way of checking IP numbers (which can be faked anyway) and am nothing to do with Key Publishing .

So it has been pulled and will be reinstated – hopefully correctly, later tonight.

Voting will have to start again, I’m afraid.

My mistake – I’ve been extremely busy recently and was done in a rush – no excuse just an explanation.

🙁 A promise I couldn’t keep – sorry – and I am really tired now – been working from Sunup to way past sundown & completely sh*gg*d out
🙁

Can’t do it tomorrow either – but soon, soon – honest.

In the meantime, please continue to post your pics in the appropriate thread.

I have the prize in my bag, ready for posting – and I can change it to something else of similar value from my stall, if you would like – I run a stall selling computer networking equipment, webcams, etc in the Plymouth Pannier Market.

Tomorrow night, I promise I’ll put up the voting thread. Username voting is a good idea. It’ll cut down on the number of votes to make.

Of course, once we have the winning user, we can then select the best shot from there.

Thanks for all your efforts. I enjoyed seeing all the photos on the thread. Maybe it would be simpler to just have voting for usernames – after all if anyone does want to vote for the user rather than the picture I don’t think it is possible to avoid this (as I don’t know anyone on this forum I wouldn’t get any votes this way anyway – mind you if you have ever seen me with a couple of film cameras around my neck my Fuji S5000 to my eye and a camcorder hanging from a shoulder and cursing at a messed up shot – you may give me a sympathy vote!) I for one wouldn’t mind if the prize was removed from the competition as it gave me enough encouragement just seeing people vote for my pictures. What do others think?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, I am just too tired to complete the operation tonight – Christmas is fast approaching, and having a market stall “Open All Hours” plus running around after hours doing installations is keeping me both skint and busy 🙁

This means, I’m just too knackered to post a new voting thread tonight – it took over an hour last time, and I still got it wrong 🙁

As I said, if any one has any idea how voting can be achieved fairly, then please let me know.

No apology needed mate i must admit i could not fathom out your voting systems numbers and could not see any numbers that were posts i had sent which confused me,I was fearing a American style election problem 😀 .

Seriously i hope this is not going to ruin a great thread and the great idea that your company would donate a prize and i hope most people posted photo’s to share them more than to win a prize as its been a lot of fun seeing how us with the cheaper end of digital cameras have done compared to the big boy DSLR cameras and many of the results have been great in my view.
