Low tec realistic air to air exercise

It was decided to, for the first time ever, perform launch of air-to-air missile on real airplane, an F-86E painted in orange. Nothing unusual about that, many countries are doing something like that. What was unusual about whole this operation is that F-86 was not piloted by remote control – in stead they trained person that was experienced private pilot and test skydiver to take off with F-86 (without canopy), go to designated area, establish level flight, engage autopilot and than bail out of the plane.
So on a day F-86 did exactly that in a company of two chase planes (Galeb G-2) whose job was to film entire operation. After they approached designated area F-86 pilot did establish level flight and speed of 250 Km/h, and after engaging autopilot he did safely bailed out of the plane. Chase planes broke off and after that MiG-21 did engage F-86 destroying him with pair of K-13 .
