Well i’m back after a day’s stay at Cork. Flew Ryanair, short delay out of LPL, but made the time up in the air. Went up up 37,000ft!!!! Cork was a busy little airport, nice to see the new terminal taking shape!
Cork the city…., not much to write about the place!
Flight today was OK, was ontime, got “The Pride of Scotland” EI-DAO, with the horrid interior 😮
Flight was OK, but some low cloud on approach meant we saw nout!
Anyway enjoy!

Down that valley i live 😀

I can tell you both flight were at least half full. I thought it was strange just 1 attendant on the MAN service!
It is usually an ARJ on the route, you are correct Flex

Someone on the boards had mentioned at one point that some European operators of the ERJ use 2 F/A’s. I wonder why BA opted for a different internal configuration of their ERJ’s.
BA normally carry 2 F/A’s in the ERJ-145, must have been say 9-10 passengers on the flight so only 1 F/A was needed. There configuration is 1-2 like all commercial ERJ’s.

Never knew that! You learn something new everyday.

Weird for BA to use a ERJ-145 on the MAN-ORK-MAN route, it is normally serviced by the RJ-100/BAe 146-200.

Thanks. I remember someone saying that the European ERJ’s are configured differently. From the one picture I can see that they don’t have the forward closet and store their galley carts there similar to how we configure our -135’s. Interesting. So I’m guessing that the BA -145’s have 2 flight attendants?

Excellent pics! I wouldn’t mind a flight on ‘Pride of Scotland’ actually. 😉

Hi Bill, yeah the bmi was a 135, and the BA a 145 🙂

Same goes for Knock but better terminal and more flights. At Knock you have to drive a long way up a big hill to get to the airport!
My dad has just got back from Knock and he said the same. There is also a development fee @ Knock just like Kerry.

Don’t get me wrong Dublin is a nice place, but there are other nice parts of Ireland where you can visit for just the same price (Galway, Kerry, Waterford, Shannon, Cork, the list goes on).

I would very very very very very strongly you to not visit Kerry as its airport is a shed, literally! They charge you tax for deporting of i think its €5 based on last trip and the airport fire engine is a tractor and trailer with equipment on it from what i saw! The airport is not that close to main towns etc and has about 2 flights a day! Same goes for Knock but better terminal and more flights. Great shots Elgan! I flew EI-DAO back from the DUB meet in December. Was there a viewing area at ORK, or were you just taking those shots from the departure lounge or something? It seems as though there are some rotations infront of the terminal…looks like it could be quite good with my camera..
Hi Dan, there is no viewing area as such, it was the restaurant where i sat. There is a v dark tint in the windows, so that doesnt help. I think it would be better for you to wait till the new term is open, thats all glass, and it looks like there will be great spots to shoot there.
Tho i’m sure with u’r cam, you’ll get better shots than i do 😉
Cheers

Great pictures. Is the ERJ in the first 2 pictures of your second lot an EMB-135 or 145?
Hi Bill, yeah the bmi was a 135, and the BA a 145 🙂
By: andrewm - 30th June 2005 at 10:01
I never have been all around my City Centre but thats with due reason :p
By: LBARULES - 30th June 2005 at 09:36
WD- Im pretty sure the 1st BA ERJ is a -145, the second bmi is a 135 (Would have been inbound from LBA on that photo, only place bmi fly to ORK from ;)).
Shamrock – you live somewhere and you’ve never been into the city centre? Hmmm…
