LS291/294 To Belfast TRIP REPORT

Hi guys im back after spending a fab day in Belfast. Here goes the report……

LS291 Boeing 737-300 G-CELU Jet2 Barcelona Seat 23F ETD- 07:15 Actual- 07-30 ETA 08:10 Actual 08:15

We checked in for our Jet2 flight to Belfast about 5:30 AM. I was pleasently surprised to learn we could check in for the inbound flight on the outbound. The Servisair agent was still asleep I think and had to get her supervisor to do it for her. Anyhow we proceeded through security where my auntie got stopped for having scissors in her bag (stupid women!) And we had to go back to the travelex desk to get an envelope. Anyway we got through second time and proceeded to the upstairs lounge where there is far more room. We had a coffee and i watched G-JALC depart for TFS as well as the usual KLM,BMis Eastern and Jet2s. Anyway around 6:55 Am we were called for boarding. And out we went to G-CELU. I was immediately impressed by the smiles and warmth of the staff plus my favourite thing modern boarding music!! I took my seat and was impressed by the room better than Britannia anyday.After a while the Captain came on to say we would have a delay of around 15 minutes due to ATC. This passed quickly and the Captain taxied very quickly and took off without holding. From there we seemed to turn right and left an awful lot. We passed over the Isle Of Man and was very impressed that the crew got everyone served with drinks with time to spare in the short flight. Not only that they were also extremely friendly. The Jet2 interior comprises of Grey Leather seats which looked a bit worn despite been in service less than a year and the Jet2…. Alicante,Nice,Palma etc stickers on the overhead bins looked a bit tacky but not that it matters with such a low price.We started our descent about 20 mins before landing. Not been used to such short flight I was caught unawares this and had to finish my drink very quicky. We had a nice smooth landing at BFS and an Easyjet 737 landed straight after us. Lots of Easyjets,BMi Babys and a couple of MyTravels on the ground. I was last to disembark so I could take some pictures (which I will post later) and made my way into the airport where I was surprised to find their was absolutely no security! (I think I went through the wrong door!) and went to get the bus into Belfast City centre. Had a wonderful day in Belfast going on the City Hall tour which was a magnificent building and the open bus tour which showed us all the sights. i will post the BFS-LBA report in a seperate post.
