Eastern Airways have acquired a Dornier 328 to operate their new London City to Newcastle route, the Dornier 328 is a wonderful aircraft, in eastern colours it looks beautiful so this maybe a service I have to try out! :p
Here she is:

No, they are the complete opposite. They operate niche routes at very high prices and therefore have a wide range of aircraft to efficiently operate their wide range of services.
Ok. Thanks for that.

This may seem a stupid question, but are Eastern not a low-cost airline? If so, why have they got such a varied range of aircraft? You would think they would choose one type of aircraft!

No ERJs in the T3 fleet.
Yup, but I assume they still form some part of the AOC in terms of their past operations. Never quite sure of the legal basis of an AOC so willing to be corrected…

JS31
JS32
JS41
SB20
D328.
Agree livery looks OK on the D328.
I have heard the Citation, appeared at ABZ near the end of last year. Must be an Exec mount for the MD or something.

How many types does that now put on their AOC?
I dont think that puts the 328 onto their AOC as its totally operated by Cirrus.
I think they have now in total:
JS31
JS32
JS41
Saab 2000
EMB 135
I think there is also a US registered CitationJet 2 buzzing about on their Eastern callsign out of Humberside which is possibly a managed machine on the AOC as well.

The SOU-BRU is now operated by a Jetstream 41 or if its not booked
up with charters and flights, the Saab 2000! 😉
Dornier 328 D-CIRB is on lease from Cirrus Airlines and ops the NCL-LCY
route!
Cheers,
Sam
