Was just looking at the website wanting to find out a bit about the Ju52 and it says they are restoring a Connie to airworthy condition with a view to operating passenger flights, fantastic 😀

…cheered up a dreich Monday…
Isn’t there something in the forum rules that says that all posts must be in English? 🙂
An amazing project, I dread to think how many tens of millions of Euros it will end up costing (including building a hangar up in not-so-sunny Maine to undertake the rebuild in).

Fascinating approach and a very positive attitude that has cheered up a dreich Monday in North Scotland. Gary the aerial photographer

Wow, that’s some clever lateral thinking (C130 package fitting into the Connie) – sounds quite impressive indeed!

The MATS Connie did display at Legends ’98, but it never landed there. I think the one Alan l means is the Breitling-sponsored Super Connie from Switzerland, which did operate out of Duxford for the show in 2006.

Didn’t the Breitling Connie visit Duxford for a Legends show a few years ago?
One of them did any way as I stood next to it!
The MATS Connie was there in 1998, I also saw it at Cosford the month before.

I saw the Breitling in its former colours in Ireland once (Shannon or Dublin, can’t remember).
Lovely looking….
I think you must be mistaken, as it has never visited this country. The lovely MATS C-121 Constellation did visit Dublin in 1998 though, on its return flight from Europe to the USA.
