A Lufthansa Airlines flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Mexico City made an emergency landing at O’Hare International Airport after officials received a bomb threat.
The Boeing 747-400 airplane had 392 passengers and 19 crew-members on board when it landed around 1620 hours local time yesterday.
“This is standard operating procedure. There were no injuries, the aircraft landed safely,” Chicago Department of Aviation spokesperson Monique Bond said.
Authorities are inspecting the plane for any explosives.

RE: Lufthansa plane diverted after bomb threat
Threats obviously have to be taken seriously though it does make me wonder what kind of deranged person would do such an intolerable thing.
I recall something similar happened with a Virgin 747-400, there was a bomb threat so it diverted to Keflavik.
Gfox,
Here is an article for you regarding the Lufthansa pilots who were drunk.

Sadly the issue is becoming more and more occurant and apparent in aviation. However, I would not think it is a new thing but rather a problem being scrutized and studied more.

RE: Lufthansa plane diverted after bomb threat
I read yesterday, something else about Lufthansa, Involving two of their pilots at Helsinki, and being drunk.
Still, this threat must have given the passengers quite a scare
