Lufthansa Strike (32 flights on Mon 22)

Due to strike action by the ver.di trade union, only 32 Lufthansa flights will operate on Monday (22nd). Of the cancellations, 113 were those due to operate to or from the British isles.

Cancellations include 1,630 European short haul flights and 58 long haul flights from Frankfurt and Munich.

Strike action by 33,000 Lufthansa ground staff is over job security and a 5.2% wage increase for next year. Lufthansa is considering legal action due to the extent of the strike, estimated to cost the airline tens of millions of euros. Lufthansa shares have fallen 10% since the start of the month.
