Luftwaffe fuselage part..FW190 Stuka?

Hi,
I’m new – 1st post, so I’d like to say hi. My name’s Bill and I’ve been collecting militaria for many years, mainly medals and documents but also an odd artifact here and there, primarily Luftwaffe.

I came across this piece recently and it’s been bugging me, it seems so familiar, I’ve built a ton of scale model aircraft over the years and feel like I’ve come across a piece like this.

I’d just like to put it out there, see if more seasoned eyes can place it.
Thanks
Bill

This is the lower pintle surround from the fuselage side that matches up to it.

Well done flying pencil!

It is the following part. Marked “A”.

Oh hell yes! It’s almost a perfect match. When the house is quiet and the kids are asleep, I’m going to do some overlays…

Thanks for the participation, I have it ‘in-hand’ now (it was too intriguing) so I can look into this in detail by your leads, and also give an accurate measurement.

I saw this on eBay too.

it is a fillet for a large aircraft, elevator or rudder.
Ju88, Ju52, He111, something like that.
I guess about 400mm at widest.

Colo(u)r looks very strongly German, but not know more that

To be clear,
the only thing I am positive is its a large aircraft.
I am fairly certain rudder or elevator.
everything else is up for speculation.

OK, quick search,
not a 111 or 52, best bet is Ju 88 rudder bottom.

Definitely a removable panel. Possibly around the flap area with the slot in it.

My bet is on wing root area.

This is a distinct possibility, when I have it ‘in hand’ I’ll look through the diagrams and come back. Thanks, Bill

Bill the problem with Ju87 is that there are so few around to compare parts with.

I agree that the slot had a purpose.

Good luck

And those are the models I have built most
I’m looking at that slot though and am seeing a kinda worn rounded end, as if it were an end-point for a cylindrical lever or arm (retractable ?).
I appreciate the reply, Brian – thanks

Bill I have looked at it several times on the internet and concluded it is definitely Junkers but despite looking I can get no further.

So you have a choice 88 or 87 (not sure it is 52.).
