Brain fade.

Daz,

Now was it the the ‘frontal lobotomy’ or the ‘bottles in front of me’?

I could actually tell you where the ‘109 shot was taken – if I had the books in front of me!

Just an educated guess, but I’d place the 109 as Italy / Sicily, and the wrecked 190 either Italy or Southern Germany. Looks like US Army Air Force personnel having snapshots taken next to / on top of captured enemy machines, presumably just after the USAAF have arrived as new tenants.

Location of FW190s

Well based on the fact that the trees behind the FW190s are of a species…. 😀

Nah just kidding…however I would guess based on the fact that the FW 190s appear to be operating from what looks to be some sort of temporary field / or a field close to the front line and considering that in Western Europe I would assume that they would more likely operate from a more established base with hangars etc…..I would guess Eastern Front somewhere. Nothing distinctive on the FW190s that a Luftwaffe expert can use to give us more info??

Very cool pics by the way – love the FW 190. Any colour pics of a Dora-9 or better still a Ta-152?

I think it’s either North Africa or Italy for the two ‘109s and the Stuka – not sure about the FW190s, though.

Lovely pics, could we trouble you for some further location info? The first one, for instance, where was it taken? Seems a rather warmer climate than I would expect of Germany.

The rearmost Messerschmitt doesn’t have that access panel. I think the first aid box is located at that point (at least I think so – there’s a small first aid cross in that location on all the colour views I’ve seen!)

Interesting in the first piccie that there seems to be a fuselage panel that’s been taken out and put back upside down (in the rear half of the cross on the fuse side). Looks like the same thing on the aircraft behind as well.

What’s the reason I wonder – a simple mistake
