Hi All,
I’m currently restoring a 1940 MG15, it is missing the forward crosshair sight.
I have found pics on the net and someone to make a replica for me but I need the dimensions of the sight, thickness of material etc.
Also….. on the very end of the barrel there is a screw thread, what was the purpose of this?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike.

Also – the rear sight has a ‘V’ rather than the point shown on the ima website.
Is this normal?

Thanks for that, will have a look.
I thought it might have been a flash eliminator but wasn’t sure.
I’m pretty miffed now that I sold my last BofB saddle drum last year, could really do with one.
Seen a few original ones from old supplies on various sites but they go for more than the BofB ones i’ve seen sold in the past!

That sounds like my old one ! It was missing the flash eliminator that screws on the end.
You can get repro sights from the US might be cheaper than having some made.
