During WW2 were any allied planes shot down by ex-allied planes being flown by the Luftwaffe?

An old bosses father had been shot down in the Bay of Biscay and interned in Portugal, and claimed that it was by a captured Wellington. I have to say that I always assumed a Ju88 or Ju188 would be better bet, and easy to mistake in the dark.

Of course – it was what the Allies did too.
We used captured aircraft to develop tactics and so did the Nazis, but they also used B17s and B24s for dropping spies (I believe He115s were used by us in the Med) and various Russian types on the Eastern front is similar roles.

The Luftwaffe used captured B-17s posing as stragglers to infiltrate and attack 8th Air Force formations. This became enough of a problem that the 8th Air Force issued an order that stragglers were not to be allowed into formations.
This practice was dramatized in “The Loneliest Place in the World”, the first episode of second season of 12 O’Clock High.

I suppose it would be ok to expand it to enemies in general, after all it was World War 2.

Not strictly Luftwaffe, but the Italian air force used a captured P-38 in August 1943 to shoot down a B-17 off Anzio.
