Luton Minor parts sort

The Aeroplane Collection are looking for parts to help with the ongoing restoration of this wee beasty – Parker CA-4 G-AFIU

http://www.abpic.co.uk/images/images/1321339F.jpg

For those not familiar with it, it is a Luton Minor for all intent and purposes with a few design tweaks by the chap who built it.

The project is missing the following –

Anzani Inverted Vee Engine – condition immaterial so long as it looks right and you can hang a prop on it.

Early style one piece fin/rudder

(A pair of more suitable wheels would be nice as well 🙂 )

Whilst it would be desirable to source original items, if they are not available then an alternative engine option and some woodwork to make a new fin will keep progress on track 🙂

Thanks,
Jon

Starting from the top!

Why not contact Arthur W.J.G. Ord-Hume? I believe he still has the design authority on the Luton Minor!

Could you send me contact details please?

I would think it will be just as easy to make a new fin.

Agreed, but always worth a quick check before starting! Think we have all done a job at some point only to be told at the end “I could have given you one of those…”

And to complete the ensemble, a wing, perhaps ?

In store and next item to be tackled. At the moment focus has been on the fuselage.

Whose wheelbarrow was the donor frame for those wheels – or were they just sourced from the B&Q MU!

At a very quick glance they almost look plausible! Does the job for now thats the main thing. From memory they were sourced from a local company who kindly fettled them to fit the stub axles.
