There is a line in the movie City Slickers where Jack Palance’s character dies. They bury him out in the desert, and the cook gives a simple eulogy….”Lord, we give you Curly. Try not to **** him off.” In so many ways I laugh to think about that quote when dealing with Lyle.
A legend has passed.

Lyle was a true aviation character.
Had beers with him at Van Nuys a year ago.

One day at the airport he said “I’ve got so much deadstick time in that Bearcat I probably qualify for a glider rating” 🙂
