Does anyone have any idea where this aircraft, G-ATBG, is now, and who owns it, or if it is even flying??

Did Lindsey also operate G-SHOW ……..??

Jim’ll Fix It photo
Had a go at scanning it last night (almost three years with the same scanner and I’ve NEVER figured out how to work it!).
The pic scanned pretty well, but it needs tweaking! Will try again after the weekend.

What a shame! 🙁
Yes we were one of the 108’s (G-ETME) but we went tech that morning with electrical problems. Real shame. I believe the others were the Lufthansa one and G-ATBG which alos went tech with a prop problem I believe. So much for German reliability (or should that be French reliability – yes thats more like it!!).

If I can scan it (*BIG* if!) I’ll post it up.

Wasn’t there an episode of “Jim’ll Fix It” featuring Lyndsey’s ‘108 and Spitfire ML407??
I think a young lad wanted to have a flight in a Spitfire, and the Beeb arranged an airfield attack to further enliven things!
I seem to remember a picture of it in one of Jeremy Flack’s books, showing the kid in full flying kit running towards ML407 while Lyndsey shot the airfield up! ML417 was in the pic, but there was also a third Spitfire in ‘Johnnie’ Johnson’s markings parked alongside. Anyone have a clue about it?

How times have changed – one of the most pathetic air show sequences I have ever seen (with apologies to Lindsay Walton),was a “Battle of Britain” scenario at Mildenhall (probably late 70s), with the Me 108 going flat out across the airfield, pursued, by the RNHF Sea Fury (TF956), with flap selected, doing ‘S’ turns to avoid overtaking it! – those who moan about the current warbird scene might do well to reflect on that.
I never saw that personally but i can imagine it would have looked blatantly wrong

I did see one in the brick ‘shed’ behind the Hastings at Duxford in October. That place always seems to be the tempoary home of anything awaiting collection or departure?
It was still there today, in the ARC section of the T2.

The Walton family still own them I believe. One can be seen in the ARCo hanger at Duxford (or at least it was back in July). There doesn’t appear to me much work going on with it as it has looked to be in the same state for at least 4 years. G-ETME was up there for a while so natually would sneak a peak now and again. I think it was offered for sale a few years ago but I think the money was very top heavy – just my opinon (of the value), I would obviously be delighted to be proved wrong!!
Currently I believe there is a French aircraft which is for sale and one other in the USA up for grabs. Would be nice if they came to the UK but I don’t have any inside info on that…

Yes, its at Booker, looked after by PPS and owned by a very nice chap by the name of Tom Harris. It gets flown on a regular basis and it’s in really good shape, although I know Tom has no real plans to put her on the display circuit…
Ahh, I thought I had read somewhere that it was at Booker, couldn’t remember where, though.
Pity he’s not going to put her on the circuit; G-ETME and G-ATBG could be quite a double act! 🙂
