M. Hiscock Esq.

Hi all
I popped down to Basingrad today to see Melv and his Rearwin.
Attached are the pictures showing progress so far.
Later we went on a little tour of aviation related sites in the Winchester-Salisbury area.
The Lanoe Hawker memorial window is in Longparish church and is wonderful.
Melv and I agree there isn’t enough Great War discussion going on so we’ll change that.
Also, Janie if while on your travels you see this thread drop me an E-mail address as Melv has a picture stored on my camera just for you.
All the best
Andy 😀 😀 😀 😀

Andy, that was quick. I have only just finished disinfecting the coffee cup . . .

T’was good to see you and through the efforts of Andy and JDK I now know why Basingstoke is in Westphalia!

It was a quick whiz around the sights. A look over the valley at Sopwith’s house from Stockbridge, the Spitfire dispersal factory at Chattis Hill, the road at Middle Wallop that used to have Spitfires running along it, the Traction engine works at Andover, the church window at Longparish and last, and definitely not least, the cafe at Popham. (It was good to see Dirk Richardson there today too . . . .)

Also heard while we were out that my boot cowl is ready for collection, the generator is causing problems and we didn’t quite get time to go an look at Buggleskelly Station which is a mile or two out of Basinggrad.

By the way, who is the ugly fat git getting in the way of the red aeroplane?

Not sure what scares me most, that fact that he thinks its nearly ready or the fact that it IS the book of instruction on how to fly a Rearwin.

Nice windows 😀
