M25 on a Friday HELP!!!!!

I have to travel from Stansted to Farnborough Airport on Friday. Leaving circa 1000 from STN to arrive by 1400.

I think my main problem is the return. Leaving Farnborough maybe around 1600 to go to Ipswich.

Question is should i go north or south on M25?? It seems i am going directly to the other side.

What is the M25 like around mid morning lunch time, i imagine its hell on a Friday evening?

Stansted, A120 to Puckeridge, A10 Hertford, A414 Hatfield, A405 Bricket Wood, mainly dual carriageway and you’ll miss the nasties.
Could be worth returning by this route but continuing on the A120 at Stansted and linking up with the A12 at Marks Tey, only problem there is Macdonalds roundabout at Braintree at that time of day, I was stuck there for half an hour on thursday due to a broken down lorry.

Haven’t been to the Suffolk Show for years, 1977 in fact, the company I was working for then had a stand as they were involved in farm management, I had some of my nicely coloured plans on display but didn’t get a single enquiry, even Princess Anne walked past without a look.
I had to swelter on a hot day in a jacket and tie as well, in the end our surveyor and I gave up and we got pissed out of our heads on Abbot Ale, how the hell we got home is a mystery, I have a vague memory of ending up at the worlds smallest pub at Bury St Edmunds, The Nutshell? then falling asleep in a field somewhere in the wilds of Suffolk. The boss wasn’t impressed, good, miserable old sod, served him right.

Go the north route to A12 junction.
Both north and south are busy but you won’t have any trouble at Dartford crossing should there be any.
Contraflow around Enfield will slow things up.

Mmmm your probably better off asking a London local but I’ll throw my two pence in, I’ve used the M25 quite a few times this year but only between Junction 16 (M40 North/South) and Junction 10 (A3/Guildford etc).

A recently as this week infact and having arrived off the M40 at around midday on Wednesday travelling down to Junction 10 it was a faultless easy journey, as for Friday evening being hell I imagine it’s hell every evening as I travelled the opposite way from 10 to 16 on a Tuesday evening back in March at around 5.:30pm and it took me just over an hour to travel 6 junctions .

It was practical gridlock in the other direction aswell, my only way of coping was having all the windows down in the immense heat, listening to Heart FM and watching the departures out of Heathrow 😀 ;).
