Lovely set there.

I still think the Basler is ugly. The old lady needs big jugs to spin those props.

RE: Madrid

Not really nice for spotting. The best place is the viewing terrace at T2 which gives you direct views to the runways and platforms. And in case you got a car take the motorway to Alcala de Henares and at Coslada get out and try to get a perimetral road. In any case itΒ΄s hard to get over there, since there are lots of controls.

RE: Madrid

it does have one of the longest Runways in EU
due to it being the highest city above Sea Level in EU, When i say about spotting i mean positions to take good shots, but yes it does get some different airlines going through.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-10-02 AT 04:39Β PM (GMT)]Yes, I agree. I went there once and saw quite a few Latin Amercan carriers which I had never seen before also its probally the best place to see Iberia wide bodies. I remember seeing IB DC-10s and 747s which was a first for me. Apparently Madrid has one of the longest runways in Europe.

RE: Madrid

Barajas Airport doesnt have a whole going for it, except the 3 times weekly SIA service of a 747-400. Not the best spotting airport either, but then again it’s not the worse try being adjacent to the main runway if you can.
