Had a very enjoyable day at Madrid Airport yesterday , I had sun all day but a very strong and ice-cold North wind made it very cold and hard to keep your lens steady 😕
Due this wind they used another runway configuration than usual and missed a lot of beautifull heavies such as Pluna 767 , 2x Avianca 767 , Areo Mexico 767 , … but I still could shoot other great birds I never saw 😉

We arrived at Terminal 4 and took a bus which drives to Barajas city , I think it’s numbered 201 , you pay 1 euro and after driving no longer than 5 minutes you’ll arrive at the metro station (first stop) where you have to leave the bus , behind you on the left side you’ll see a hill , go to that hill and climb on it , from here you will see most traffic passing by 😉
This must be the most used spotting place if you don’t have a car , most photos you see on PP and Airlines are taken from there , only problem might be the fence you’ll get on all you photos but you have sun in the back all day and you won’t get problems with the Police or other security services , even not in the terminals
Just be carefull with heat waves , even when it’s cold you can’t take photos of planes which are far away , there is that many concrete that the heat waves are very ennoying…

No i did’nt travel back on the 23rd, I went for the day on the 2/3 on Bacon from Manchester…..the route is no longer in operation which is a shame.:mad:
Easyjet could make a killing on this route going twice daily from Liverpool early am departure and late afternoon deprature, or Jet2 could from Man.
I spotted from the Cafe in T2 whilst I was there.

maybe i can help. Its not to far away by the looks of things. proberly 15mins walk, but im not sure if your alloud to use them roads. But when you taxi-in you can clearly see the place that the enthusiasts hang out. Its out the right hand side of the aircraft between T4 and T3.(You should be able to see like a little road junction or something.
Hope that helps a bit.

wow great shots. i have just got back from madrid myself. Stunning place, already looking for tickets back in 2 weeks for a day. i would post some of my pics but my camera is now covered in jaffacakes 😀
