Magical Mystery Tour Ghosts ???

Recently on soulsearchers I included the story of RAF West Malling’s ghosts under the title RAF West Malling. In 1981 a whole film crew and cast witnessed a jeep and personnel vanish as they were filming “We’ll Meet Again”. After giving it some thought, I remembered The Beatles used West Malling to film Magical Mystery Tour in Sept 1967. So I dug out the film to see if perhaps the ghost crew were caught on film and had gone unnoticed all those years. Well,, this is where I need your help !! I could be wrong and if I am I will admit I am wrong. Anyone who has a copy of the film should look at the scene where The Beatles are singing I Am The Walrus. Right after the policemen on the wall scene, the top left hand side of the screen shows what maybe people standing around a vehicle in the distance.I have freeze framed the picture and used a magnifying glass but still cant be sure as to what I am looking at. Just after that our only flying Lancaster flew overhead as the scene continues. If I am right,, then we may actually have ghosts on film.

Still, that doesn’t prove that they are ghosts does it? I mean, it still could just be people standing round an old jeep with the bonnet up (and I must admit that I’ve failed to see anything at the point you indicate that looks like that to me).

Sorry, you’ll have to excuse me, I’m a born sceptic (and it’s nothing personal) but to prove that these are ghosts wouldn’t they have to be seen clearly and then do something ‘ghostly’ like disappear as in the original account. The problem then is that a ‘disappearance’ on film (or video) can be easily done with special effects (not even that special these days) so again you’d need something more to prove it.

It all begs the question how do you prove ghosts exist without actually seeing one in person?

I agree; it looks like shadows of something against the blast-wall.

Just to play devil’s advocate for a minute if it had been clearly ‘people standing around a vehicle’ why would that mean that ‘ghosts’ had been captured on film; couldn’t it just have been people?

Hi Creaking Door ,,, Yes, it could well be people hanging around an old jeep,, but as the story goes, they were looking into the engine and that to me looks like a jeep with its bonnet up.

If this was West Malling, and I know it has virtaully all been re-developed, do those blast walls still exist? They look pretty hefty things to get rid off.

Well i’ve had a look and I think I’ve seen the bit you mean. Is it just after the police on the wall and there is a split screen with the police in the bottom part and the Beatles in the top part with some men dress in a white blanket thing crossing from left to right?

If this is the bit then I think what your seeing in the top left corner is a tuft of grass at the base of the wall they were standing on and the boys are playing in front of. Can’t see any ghosts i’m affraid. Nice Shack though, if only fleeting.
