Dunno if this has been mentioned but before but here goes!

Humberside Airport suffered a major blow yesterday after it emerged that Excel Airways was withdrawing 10 services from next summer. The move follows Ryanair’s decision last month to cut flights to Dublin from the airport.
The low-cost charter airline took passengers to destinations including Malaga, the Canary Islands, Paphos in Cyprus, and Dalaman on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast. It also affects two new routes to Sharm-el-Sheikh and Corfu.
A spokesman for the airport said: ‘Due to some fleet rationalisation plans, Excel Airways will not be basing an aircraft of their own at Humberside Airport next summer. The Airport is now working closely with other tour operators and airlines to replace the flying programme and take up routes which XL.com had on sale.’
‘We are aware that XL is currently undergoing a period of evaluation and change on a national level and its decision to withdraw from Humberside is part of a much wider picture for the company.’

I wonder has this anything to do with the announcement that they are basing 2 aircraft in DUB next summer.

Noticed that Panorama Holidays are still offering Sharm el Sheik as a destination from HUY. A bit naughty if they know already that the flights are non-existent. But expected really ,as tour operators get away with it time and time again. Book them from one place, then tranfer them to MAN.

Not only HUY – XL have also pulled out of CWL and their flights from EMA will not be operated by Excel (albeit a leased MD83 this summer), but by Air Malta
