Major Glitch in new Software at Heathrow T1

Unsure if just related to bmi but there is currently major disruption at T1, with no gates available to park aircraft on to unload/reload due to the amount of aircraft on the ground.

It has come about from a new software program used at checkin crashing in the entire terminal and also the new security software for checking boarding passes also crashed resulting in no one being admitted to airside for a 1 hour period.

Presently there are alot of delays for BD at least and they have just made the annoucement to say, for several flights, “your aircraft is on the ground but due to lack of space, we will not have any stand for the next 30mins-1hour.

Aparently alot of software is still down and alot of the flight display screens are down as a result.

Not a god day at T1 today.

First, major delays in the morning due to the awful fog in London this morning.

Now, what I believe is a power issue with some of the IT.

It would appear to have been the entire of Terminal 1 as the departures list showed heavily delayed flights from all airlines.

The last bmi is due to arrive at 2255 into BHD, sta is 2100. Hopefully it will not get diverted to BFS as BHD should technically close at 2200!

I think it must have been exclusive to bmi because BA and EI both use their own check in systems at LHR. Perhaps it was a problem with BAA equipment?
