Malaysian Armed Forces will send a recce team to Afghanistan within the next few weeks. This team will be conducting a fact finding mission prior to the deployment of the Malaysian Medical Team(MALMEDTIM).The recce team will be made from officers from the RMAF,Special Operation Group,Airborne protection group and military intell unit.
MALMEDTIM will be based in Afghanistan in order to provide the much needed medical and surgical attention for the general population.ISAF will gave the recce team some pointers regarding the current situation report.Once the team identified the most suitable site for the deployment- MALMEDTIM will set up a modern field hospital for the people of Afghanistan.A small no of troops from the SOG/RDF will be armed with the suitable weapons to defend the field hospital from any hostile aggressions.
This will be MALMEDTIM second deployment after Chaman in the Pakistan/Afghanistan border-the previous mission they managed to provide medical and surgical assistance to app.200,000 refugees.
MALMEDTIM field hospital can conduct a complicated operations w/o any outside help since it is one of the best field hospital money can buy.
The system were bought from France couple of years ago for the Rapid Deployment Force use.At least some of the multibillion dollars spend on the MAF could be use to save lives instead of taking them.If most of other nation could mimic this moves – saving lives and not keep bombing them till kingdom come.

Tomel
Thats quite commendable but there is no reason to imply that other nations have not already provided similar efforts. Anyway, good for Malaysia.
