Hey all – Michael and myself decided back in February to take advantage of the low prices EasyJet were offering on the old GB Airways routes. So the first of 2 trips we booked was to Malta on April 27th (the second being Gibraltar in a few weeks – 10/5).
Left on the first flight of the day, ending up onboard G-TTOC which has also received the hybrid livery. We returned home on the last flight of the day – also operated by G-TTOC.
Heat haze was a bitch on the day we were there, causing all sorts of problems with the photos and colours etc. Sorry, I appologise now for the quality on some of them.
The flight there was uneventful – however the return leg got a little bumpy as we began out decent into LGW… and the landing itself was rough. The Pilot seemed to leave it a little late getting down on to the runway, so by the time we were down, he was running out of runway, which seemed to result in applying full brakes. Once the nose gear was down – the brakes felt as though they were slammed on. Both Micahel and I nearly bumped our heads on the seats in front of due to the force, and most people in the cabin were thrown forward also… still it made for a rather different landing I suppose?!! 😮
Anyhow enough of the rambling on, here’s part one of the photos.
Enjoy!!
G-TTOC in her new livery.
What we parked next to on the apron in Malta.
Malta Terminal.
D-AILH of Lufthansa was circuit bashing pretty much all afternoon, so we were treated to alot of touch and go’s.

TTOC Departing for Manchester.

One of the many KM Flights.
LH heading off again…
Medavia were also doing a few touch and go’s in their Casa.

The Baby LH once more… liked the back drop on this one.
Nice to see this too, albeit a little on the bland side.

Anyone up for a day trip? :p
1 week in ACE will be enough for me for 1 year 😀
Great shots mate, looking forward to seeing what you produce down in Gib soon.

When I visited MLA earlier in April the haze was caused by desert sand being blown into the atmosphere – africa isn’t that very far away.
I did much the same as you two lads but went out easyjet – the almost new 321 G-TTOG, great bacon roll, and back to Luton on Ryanair arriving just before midnight.
How did you get from the terminal to the spotters platform and back again?

Very nice work, Andrew. The G-TTOC’s looking very odd these days!
Thanks for sharing!
