Man Made Global Warming / hype (merged)

With a, literally, earth-changing event about to start in Copenhagen I wonder which way forum members incline over this contentious subject. Having read a great deal of of evidence which unequivocally contradicts the popular belief I cannot accept that we should spend the trillions of dollars called for in the vain hope of changing the climate.

There is an entirely unsubstantiated link between the most passionate MMGW adherents and equally passionate consumers of organic food, generally being lumped together as “tree-huggers”. That might be the connection our friend was alluding to.;)

Tree huggers = ill informed, disturbed, sensationalist, liars, usually PC and therefore adding more credence to the case against them and their idiotic attitude to reality and science)

What does global warming (man-made or otherwise) have to do with organic coffee?

I dont buy any of it at all! For me its just a lot of academics and shrewd business types making mountains of cash out of peoples gulability, from weather predictors to C02 emissions its all so much double talk, and cliche ridden tosh , ditto the”organic” brigade, if its better for you and no additives are used in its production ,how come its twice the price of traditional fresh produce? come on people wake up and smell the coffee(organic of course)

Well that sums it all up pretty well, doesn’t it?

Here is another group taking global warming seriously, bless their hearts.

Burp-less sheep to be bred in Australia

The worriers about cooling included Science, the most influential scientific journal in the world, quoting an official of the World Meteorological Organization; the National Academy of Sciences worrying about the onset of a 10,000 year ice age; Newsweek warning that food production could be adversely affected within a decade; the New York Times quoting an official of the National Center for Atmospheric Research; and Science Digest, the science periodical with the largest circulation..

If all the attendees of the Copenhagen summit are so all fired interested in reducing greenhouse gas emissions why did they not conduct the meetings by videophone? Yes I know that would mean some of them being up at silly hours of the night their time but if they were sincere and honestly interested in something other than being seen attending to make political brownie points that is what they would have done.

Largely because they are only interested in creating as much huff and puff as possible. And since none of them have taken the time to really study the pros and cons of the whole phenomenum they could not conceive of the summit being between 2 or 3 representatives of each nation by video link. Come on Mike, we are talking self-important politicians here, not normal, thinkig people!;)

BIGGEST LOAD OF TOSH EVER DREAMED UP ITS JUST EVOLUTION AND NOTHING ELSE ALTHOUGH LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE LINING THEIR POCKETS ON THE BACK OF IT, WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE PEOPLE

Evolution is a biological process.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with the climate.

And please don’t post in all-upper case again.

Thanks

That must have been the swearing that followed my daughter shouting that she’d have got £250 from You’ve Been Framed if I’d had the decency to warn her first.

I cannot believe the gibberish I am hearing on the BBC tonight about why the conference failed and all the excuses put forward. Then they go on to say, “Well, it’s a start…2 degrees…. 3 degrees…”. Zounds, one would swear that they have a rheostat that they can turn and reduce the global temperature like snapping a finger, but only provided various countries fulfill certain conditions! Yet mankind cannot even create one cell. They cannot agree on fundamental principles amongst themselves. Like Crocodile Dundee said, “it’s like two fleas on a dog’s back arguing over who owns the dog.” I agree with GA’s point of view in #56
