First choice are starting a new route to Sharm El Sheik on thursdays next year.
FCA5264 – Manchester – Sharm El Sheik – 09:00
FCA5265 – Sharm El Sheik – Manchester – 20:55
At the moment first choice seem to be indicating a B757 which could change to a B767 depending on demand
seems first choice are also changing the flight codes from the old D, C system to a new 4 numbered system.

If you read through your confirmation details its all there
Well there you go…I bet you’ll find more than half the charter passengers get their tickets in their wallets and don’t even look at the confirmation details until they are at the airport. Even then they’ll only look at the outbound details. Then when it comes to going home they’ll just look for a number that’s familiar.
You may find that harsh but that’s just the way it is. I can wrap it up and put a great big pink bow on it if you like but that is how it is. If I had a dollar for every passenger that had kept me waiting…

Oh for gods sake…. I know that and people know that, but a flight number isnt something alot of people know off the top of their heads.
I imagine alot of people only know which flight theres is by the airline and destinations when it is announced over the tannoy.

Yes, but not everyone is as sad as us aviation fanatics who know every detail about their flight, (I should know, im one of them!).
Alot of people wont have a clue what there flight number is.

ok i think thats a little harsh to say that
That’s the truth, like it or not! We had a lot more success getting our booked return passengers to show up when the number remained the same!

At JMC we started using K and L because our average passenger was as intelligent as a plank of wood and couldn’t cope with the flight number being different on the way home compared to the way out!!!

Yes they do

BA use C on the charter flights do they not?
By: Pablo - 13th August 2004 at 10:48
Yeah, BA and BMI do for their call signs, but what about from a passenger’s perspective?
By: topjet330 - 13th August 2004 at 10:18
The only ones i can think of, are the BA shuttles, which use B, C i believe, could be wrong. otherwise first choice used to,
Thomas Cook – K/L
BY – A/B

Aside from BY, FCA and TCX, does anyone know of other airlines using alpha characters in their flight numbers? I do remember a few years ago that only BY used to do so.
