Man tries to start blaze on Edinburgh bound easyJet flight

A PASSENGER on a plane flying in to Edinburgh Airport caused a full-
scale emergency after trying to start a fire on board.

The 47-year-old man was reported to have brandished plastic bottle
filled with paper, which he attempted to set alight.

But he was restrained by other travellers and held until police could
board the plane at Edinburgh.

The drama started at around 12.30pm yesterday, when the pilot of the
easyJet flight from London Stansted – which was carrying 139 people –
radioed the airport reporting a disturbance on board and requesting
back-up.
