Manchester Southside 25th November – Warning 20 images (56k beware!)

Had a few hours to spare on Friday morning, so with thermals worn, 2 flasks of hot tea and loads of mars bars I headed down to the rotation point on 24L.

I would have got more images but due to the extremley cold weather (anything between -1 and -3) all three batteries for my camera died within a few hours!

Fantastic set of photographs.

The best for me are the Thomas Cook 757-300 (its just so ugly!) and the really stumpy 737-600.

Great selection Tony.

Going above ISO200 on a DSLR is almost suicidal really during normal daytime photography. I would only consider ISO400 to catch something rare if I was at f7.1-8 and still getting shutter speeds under 1/100th. Aside from that, not worth it!

W

Best shots you have posted in my view, superb!

Thank you very much…hopefully the improvement is due to shooting in RAW format, thanks to the addition of a few 4Gb CF cards 😉 , and the crisp sunny weather letting me use ISO 100 and ISO 200 which reduces the ‘digital noise’ in the images!

Great pictures, every one of them.

Always like to see Aurigny aircraft.

The KLM Fokker reminds me of a question I have been meaning to ask you guys for ages.
Does Air UK (KLM UK) still operate or is it all operated from AMS now?

1L.

If you look at some KLM cityhopper F100 pictures on the side of the aircraft it says operated by KLM UK.KLM UK still exist but as KLM cityhopper like Tyrolean Airways now Austrian Arrows.

Nice Pictures there mate love the first four and yeh theres a Fokker pic

I believe a few Fokkers are still based in the UK, but could be wrong there. KLM UK has ceased to exist though, and has been merged into KLM Cityhopper.

That BMI 330 is great! Unfortunately I missed that plane when I was in MAN. 4 days in MAN and not a single shot of a BMI 330 in their livery only with that dreadful star alliance livery.

Great shots there Tony!

You probably don’t want to hear this Tenthije but that Star Alliance has been down at LHR since Thursday. You were just unlucky to get that one.
