MAN's ATC!

I think MAN’s ATC is getting alittle leaky and dangerous! The past 2 visits to MAN have brough about 3 Aborted landings all with dangerous coincidences if the landings had been allowed! The first was Friday last week, a JMC was cleared for landing and was on its glidescope where a BA 737 was parked in the middle of the runway ready for take off! 2 Hours went by and the JMC 757 didnt return. The second was on Wednesday! An Emirates A330 was 6FT from landing on Runway 1 when it suddenly Climbed, as soon as it had started climbing a few seconds later a US Airways A330 flew over Terminal 1 Diagonally VERY low! I was thinking and it looks like if the Emirates had landed and the Us Airwsys behind it the Us Airways would have smashed right into the back of the Emirates. [BR][BR]Have you guys ever seen things like this nad do they get reported by the ATC???

RE: MAN’s ATC!

Yes it was around that time, My next door neighbour works for MAN’s fire service so i might go round sometime and ask him about this stuff. It would be interesting if I could get on a tour airside 🙂

RE: MAN’s ATC!

I go to MAN quite reguarly and have seen a couple of Emergency landings where the fire engines rush out with sirens on and lights flashing and follow the aircraft back to the stand, usually for a faulty warning light in the cockpit or similar.

I’ve never seen anything like what you’ve described above.

Were these incidents between 1200 and 1500 when they just one runway? They are perhaps so used to landing on a seperate runway that when they use the one they forget to think about departing traffic, scarry thought
