Just heard that Manston will be re-opening. Planning application has been lodged to update, renew and build modern facilities.

At this point in time they submitted the DCO and they have stated on their facebook page that 95% are successful. I do hope that they can pull this off.

Great news that Manston appears to have had a reprieve. There are too many airfields and airports that have closed over the recent years.
Not quite sure about the air freight aspect and how leaving the EU would initiate this. At the very best we can hope for manufacturing and trade equal to what we have at the moment, and with that any freight and logistics are clearly covered by what is in place today. If it’s not used in todays comprehensive trading world then it’s not going to be needed next year when the trading picture worsens.
Also, air freight is expensive compared to rail/road/shipping and is only used for the higher-end profitable and and less bulky items. If anything that will worsen in years to come.

Yes, that seems reasonable and feasible. Manston for air freighted export to the EU, I’m buying shares in Manston Plc !

Good news if it’s true .
Maybe to operate more freight post Brexit ?
