Over the years there has been a number of operators doing the Jersey service all be it on a Saturday the last was Aurigny Air Services with there Shorts 360 which has departed the company.
Some other operators before to name but a few.
Intra Airways with there fleet of Dakotas and Viscount 700 25 Years or so ago.
British Midland operated with there Viscount 700s before that.
I am lead to believe these flight were tied in with one of the local travel agents and were mainly weekend summer only.

Ahem…. it were called “Staverton” when I were a lad. 😎
Surprised you can remember back that far Lance :p
But yes you are right, it is known as Staverton, but the official name is Gloucestershire Airport 😉

Many moons ago?
I think not, Aurigny only stopped running it last year!
Manx2 are just filling the gap in what was, I understand, a very well fulfilled summer market.
The IOM connection is a little tenuous though. Theres a bit of a banking connection to the region, so a connection to the IOM may well be supported by some of the local businesses?

Being pedantic there isn’t “really” an airport in Gloucester, it’s called Gloucestershire Airport rather than Gloucester Airport, the address is Cheltenham, we’re smack bang inbetween Gloucester & Cheltenham

I seem to remember that there used to be a seasonal (summer only) service between Staverton and the Channel Islands many moons ago.
I can’t remember the operator but I’m fairly sure that the equipment was Shorts 360s.

Very interesting…although I will be honest and admit that I did not know there was an airport at Gloucester!:!

hmm, interesting to see something different than the normal Citations & light a/c fly into my local airfield. The route seems a bit of a risk though, but hopefully it will pay off. I wonder how the locals will react, especially when we want to install an ILS etc

Are they going to be operating their Let-410 on this route, or a different type of a/c?
According to the link provided in the above post, they [Manx2] are also looking to operate flights from Gloucester to Jersey!
