Does anyone know what the letters and numbers (G5/87929 and below CX)under the cockpit of this 87 Squadron Hurricane refer to? Do they in any way identify the particular aircraft or are they just some standard service number?(the latter I suspect!).

W/T refers to the fact that this panel is bonded to the rest of the airframe.
Its a standard stencil for all wartime aircraft.
